During the Cambodia Book Fair held from 11 to 14 December 2025 at Elysee, Koh Pich, H.E. Sok Rithy, President of the Cambodia Book Publishers Association (CBPA), paid a visit to the One Book One Community (OBOC) volunteer team at the CBPA-supported booth. The visit reflected the Association’s continued commitment to strengthening literacy initiatives and supporting community-based educational development in Cambodia.

On this occasion, H.E. Sok Rithy engaged in a cordial and constructive discussion with OBOC volunteers, commending their dedication, professionalism, and active involvement in promoting reading culture and access to books. The volunteers were carrying out fundraising activities to support school libraries and community libraries, including Reussey Chroy Secondary School and libraries in Kandal Province.
In addition to library support, the funds raised during the Cambodia Book Fair will also be utilized to implement and expand key One Book One Community programs, including the Reading Street Program, Mobile Library Program, Library Development Program, Youth Capacity Building Program, as well as other educational and community-focused activities under OBOC. These programs aim to broaden access to books, encourage reading habits, and empower youth and communities through education.
H.E. Sok Rithy expressed his appreciation for the strong sense of social responsibility demonstrated by the volunteers throughout the four-day event. He emphasized the importance of youth volunteerism, partnership, and collective action in strengthening Cambodia’s book ecosystem and advancing sustainable literacy development. He further encouraged the OBOC team to continue its meaningful contributions to promoting lifelong learning across communities.
The sponsorship and logistical support provided by the Cambodia Book Publishers Association for the OBOC booth and activities highlighted the close and constructive collaboration between CBPA and One Book One Community. One Book One Community is a project member of CBPA, and this partnership represents a shared vision to promote books, reading, and education as fundamental pillars for national development.
