OBOC Participation at CJBI Networking Gathering

On October 6, 2022, the One Book One Community (OBOC) team participated in the CJBI Networking Gathering held at the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) in Phnom Penh. The event, organized by the Cambodia-Japan Business and Investment (CJBI) network, centered on the theme “Methods to Sustain the Balance between Virtue and Income of the Company based on Buddhist Philosophy.”

The gathering brought together business leaders, educators, and development partners to exchange ideas on socially responsible business. The OBOC team presented its mission of promoting reading culture, library development, and community learning, highlighting how reading contributes not only to personal growth but also to ethical leadership and sustainable business practices.

At the OBOC exhibition booth, visitors explored the campaign “ Together promote reading in our community” and other initiatives that encourage youth and families to read more. The team also took the opportunity to inspire business participants to adopt reading habits—both for their own continuous learning and as a way to support literacy programs in their communities.

By introducing the importance of reading culture within a business environment, OBOC emphasized that cultivating informed, thoughtful leaders begins with a love for books. Many entrepreneurs and corporate representatives expressed interest in future collaboration to help promote reading and education in Cambodia.

Through this event, OBOC strengthened partnerships between the education and business sectors, advancing the shared goal of empowering Cambodian youth and professionals through books, knowledge, and lifelong learning.
